Background

RAM has a long history in the test and evaluation functional area, and provides a variety of capabilities in support of operational test requirements, including test planning; software; and data collection, reduction, and analyses. In 2007, RAM was selected as the Operational Test Command (OTC) Test Support Contractor (TSC). RAM's corporate background includes support to several tactical weapon system test programs, test and analysis within federal civil agencies, and specialized research to define the threat environment.

Test Planning
RAM offers the experience necessary to complete the overall test planning process. Our personnel are capable of analyzing requirements, establishing test concepts and criteria, and developing detailed scenarios and test procedures. Our experience includes coordinating across multiple agencies to establish test budgets and schedules, and development of complete test support packages, including consideration for logistics and safety requirements.

RAM develops test processes and procedures by researching, specifying, and documenting the equipment, personnel, and facilities required to conduct the test. These processes and procedures verify and validate that the system responds to the System Performance Specification  and that it functions properly. RAM establishes traceability of the test procedures from requirements, through hardware and software configuration items, to test procedures using requirements tracking tools such as DOORS.

RAM designs and develops data collection plans, scoring rules, and data analysis plans in support of testing requirements. We have provided data collectors and analysts for a variety of developmental and operational testing programs.

Test Tools
RAM designs, develops, or acquires the automated test tools, test instrumentation, and special-purpose equipment needed to support testing requirements. RAM has the in-house capability to develop/modify test tool software and to design and develop the necessary interfaces for incorporation of embedded simulators/emulators and other devices. RAM has developed test tool configurations that include embedded computer systems stimulator/devices, hardware emulators, software, protocol interfaces, firmware, and other test instrumentation.

Test Player Training
RAM offers a substantial training capability and can apply that capability to the design, development, and implementation of training programs to prepare operator/maintenance personnel, data collectors, and others for the test period. We have significant experience supporting the Army Threat Support Activity and can readily incorporate realistic threat environments into operational test and training requirements.
